Our Leaders and Coordinators!

Lee Anchin:

Play By Design Co-Owner

Amy Nichols: Crew Lead We moved to Carlisle 6 years ago, and m

y kids are going into 11th grade, 8th grade, and 7th grade.

All three of them have enjoyed playing on the castle and I'm excited to help make the new castle even better.

David Ziehler: Crew Lead

Dan Tzenca: Crew Lead “I wanted to get involved in the community and help build something that will be part of Carlisle for decades to come.”

Bill Brady: Crew Lead

I wanted to help because this a cool project and a fun and easy way to give back to the community.  Our family really enjoyed the Castle and Plaza over the years and I think it will (soon!) be great place for current and future families to enjoy a safe place to gather, play, and make great memories. “

Karen Gettings: Food Coordinator

“Why did I sign up? Because Deepa made me. KIDDING

My children have loved the Carlisle Castle for almost their whole lives. They use it during school, after school and on weekend gatherings. I would love for the next generation to enjoy it as much as they have, so you can consider this help as payback. I am useless with a hammer or a wrench, but when I heard that the committee needed help organizing lunches I saw an opportunity to help.”

Steven Lupo: Crew Leader

Brian Barmmer: Crew Lead

Andrey Yip: Crew Lead

Josh Danker: Crew Lead “I sit at a desk all day on Zoom calls. This felt like the perfect opportunity to get out of the house and build something tangible. I am looking forward to seeing the playground get built by the community from the ground up.”

Joe Jalbert: Crew Lead “The existing castle playground has been an excellent meetup spot us and a favorite site for our kids to play. I am excited to be part of building something that will be enjoyed by the next generations of Carlisle families.”

Lynette Kelleher: Food Coordinator “The Castle is a  central part of the Carlisle community and I am excited to support the builders who are taking on this project. My family is so excited to see the new playground come to life and this is a great way for me to get involved that doesn't involve power tools.” :) “

Sarah Wengert: Crew Lead

“As a child I "helped" build my local playground, and I remember it fondly. That, combined with my love of building things, made me very interested in helping with this new playground. Now I have the skills to actually help! This will be a great place for all of the families continuing to grow up in Carlisle.”

Jon Metivier: Crew Lead

Misty Provost: Crew Lead “I, my husband, and our 10 year old son Isaac have lived in Carlisle for 3 years (almost exactly!) We have fallen in love with the tight knit community including how it gathers to MAKE THINGS HAPPEN, like this project! I just can't turn down such a unique opportunity to contribute in such a real way to a focal point within our town. I look forward to being able to say "I helped build that" for years to come as the next dozen or more classes of kids enjoy it!”

Andy Barlow: Crew Lead

Peter Niessen: Crew Lead

Tim Fredette: Crew Lead “I want to build this playground because I love building things. If the castle project goes well, who knows!? Maybe you’ll be seeing me on the crew of Treehouse Masters, or building trolls for Thomas Dambo!”

Sesha Gadey: Food Coordinator “I’m excited to help with the new playground because no more splinters! (Just kidding!) This is an amazing opportunity for all of us to band together to build an amazing gathering space for both kids and grownups— the committee has done a fantastic job bringing a really cool play space to reality for generations to come, and we are thrilled that our young kiddos will enjoy many years here!  What better way to thank all the volunteers than to keep everyone well fed after a day’s hard work!”

Katie Vachon: Tools

Coordinator “I love this project, it has it all - problem solving, working together as a community, and a really amazing gift for the children of Carlisle.  I want my children to watch the adults around them work together on a large scale challenge, for them to see the example of seeing a problem and working together as a team to solve it.  I also love that this is keeping the tradition alive that was started by the original Castle Crew from the '80s to build it ourselves.”

Meredith Bielecki:

Food Coordinator “I have wanted to help contribute to the Carlisle Build since Brian Waterson sought my opinion on how to make the playground accessible and inclusive for ALL children in our town. This is something very important to my family since my own son has struggled using some of the outdated equipment. I am thrilled to be able to help out providing dinners to all the volunteers who are working so hard to make this new playground a reality for our kids. “

Eric Balles: Crew Lead “Kathy and I have been in Carlisle almost 30 years now (moved in 1993) and raised our four kids here -- Danny, Joey, Suzy and Marie -- who are now in their 20s and 30s.  All have fond memories of the castle playground and I thought helping out would be one way to pay forward for what we were the beneficiaries from the previous generation of Carlisle residents.”
